Prometric question banks for nurses

The written paper is the step between a nursing qualification and a licence to practise in the Gulf. The banks on this page hold 3,050 questions for it — each one filed under a heading from the official exam outline, and each with a written rationale rather than a bare answer key.

They are tagged for 9 licensing authorities, and the tag sits on every question, so you can always see which regulator a question was written for.

Which bank is yours

General nursing and midwifery are listed separately above, because they are examined separately. Start from the card that matches the paper on your own application: each one shows its question count, its mock exams, the authorities it covers, and whether it is ready to buy.

A bank still in preparation says so on its card instead of showing a price, and cannot be bought until the questions exist. That is deliberate — a bank is listed before it is finished so you can see it is coming, not so it can be sold early.

Your authority decides the paper, not just your specialty

The same nursing syllabus is examined differently from one country to the next: how many questions, how the topics are weighted, sometimes how the stem is phrased. That is why every bank is tagged by authority and not by specialty alone.

The clinical content is shared across those regulators, so one bank is valid preparation for every authority its card lists. If your destination changes after you subscribe, you are not buying again.

The grade you apply under

Gulf regulators classify nursing applicants by grade — Nursing Specialist, Senior Specialist and Consultant. Which grade you are placed in is decided by the regulator from your qualification and your documented experience, and it is settled on your application rather than by the bank you practise on.

What these questions are, and what they are not

They are not the real exam. Prometric's own questions are confidential and we do not reproduce them. These are original questions written to the same blueprint, style and difficulty — which is what makes practising them useful, and also why nobody can honestly offer you the paper in advance.

What each question does carry is a rationale: why the key is correct, and why each distractor was written to tempt you. That is the part that turns practice into preparation.

Frequently asked questions

Which nursing bank should I start with?

The general nursing bank covers the main nursing paper; midwifery is examined separately and is listed on its own card. Each card shows its question count, its mock exams and its authorities, so you can match it against your own application before paying anything.

Do I need a separate bank for each licensing authority?

No. Each bank is tagged with every authority it prepares you for, and the clinical content is shared across them, so one subscription covers all the regulators listed on its card.

Can I try the questions before I pay?

Yes. Ten questions from the bank run in the browser with no account and no payment, from the bank's own page.

How long does access last, and does it renew?

Access starts when your payment clears and runs for the period shown on the bank's card. It does not renew automatically, and any updates published during that period are included at no extra cost.

What if the bank turns out not to suit me?

Within 7 days, and having used less than 10% of the questions, you are refunded in full.
